The 2nd Serbian Congress on Diabetes in Children

In spring of next year will host the largest medical conference on the subject of diabetes in children ever organized in Serbia.

It is our pleasure and privilege to invite you to join The 2nd Serbian Congress on Diabetes in Children (SCDC) with International Participation, which will be held in Bukovicka Spa by Arandjelovac, Serbia, from 22nd till 24th April 2020.

Formal organizer of the Congress is the Special Hospital for Rehabilitation “Bukovička banja” by Arandjelovac celebrating 30th anniversary of the only Department for the extended treatment, education and rehabilitation of children suffering from diabetes in Serbia.

The program activities shall be led by experts and distinguished speakers from different leading institutions worldwide.

Congress discussion will cover important topics for children’s metabolic health, such as:

  • Neonatal carbohydrate metabolism
  • Neonatal and infancy onset diabetes
  • Diabetes during other illnesses. For instance: cystic fibrosis, diabetic hypoglycemia and diabetic ketoacidosis
  • The impact of stress on the development of acute and chronic diseases
  • The effect of diabetes on reproduction
  • There will also be discussions on transition medicine, which, objectively, is not well developed in Europe today.

The official languages of the event are Serbian and English with simultaneous translation provided at all time, saw all the participants dispute the language they speak will be equally treated.

The SCDC2020 will also include scientific exhibition, where leading companies will display state-of-the-art products that have found clinical acceptance with particular relevance to the delivery of quality patient care. Abstracts are invited and are accepted in either oral or poster presentation formats.

Congress attendees will have the chance to benefit from scientific exchange during either the formal activities or the informal meetings with colleagues from different backgrounds.

There will also be a number of social events during the Conference. Such events include: Welcome cocktail; Congress Party; Gala dinner; visits to famous landmarks and historical sites and opportunities to see the traditional way of life in Serbia.
